Big Desert Wilderness Park is located just over the SA/Vic border, camping at Big Billy Campground (No charge, drop toilets, shelter).

Easiest access is to drive via Pinnaroo to Murrayville, then turn right onto the Murrayvillle – Nhill Road.

Sunday arvo and Monday will be spent touring the area, coming back to Big Billy Campground each night.

Tuesday will be spent driving out towards the SA border, planning to exit the park about Scorpion Springs, south of Pinnaroo.

Most driving will be sandy tracks with options for more challenging sand dunes. Some tracks are likely to be overgrown with a high likelihood of some bush pinstriping.

Participants are expected to be fully self reliant with sufficient food, water and fuel. All rubbish will need to be taken with you.

The campground is accessible for caravans and campers, however people towing trailers should return via Murrayville.

People are welcome to travel with me, leaving Blackwood at 7:30 Sun morning, or meet me at the campground about lunchtime Sunday.
